Circular curve of the blue hills, pieces of wood coming out of water
The Wooden River
acrylic and ink on wood
16" square

This comes from the region outside of Macroom, near the city of Cork, Ireland. The area once held a forest that had revived itself continuously since the Ice Age, but recent flooding has submerged the last dead trunks of its oak trees, creating a still, quiet and rather eerie place in the midst of green hills.
