willow, hand-painted brush, red left, green roller right
WILLOW
acrylic, collage, marker, roller, sanding on wood
16" x 20"
2014

The title came from Viola's line in "Twelfth Night": "Make me a willow cabin at your gate." I had been looking at graffit'di walls and am very interested in the way a tagger and a buffer (the person who comes along to paint over the tag) relate to each other. There is, sometimes, a kind of dialogue between them. This painting has been replaced by "Morning Shadows, Japanese Willows."
