This had been a painting about Gertrude Stein; supposedly she never revised... but I do. So this has been a real troublemaker and resisted and fought, but in the end, I think it has earned the title, a phrase taken from Iris Murdoch's "The Sovereignty of Good," the title essay, about how best to live.
