I ran across a piece by John Berger on the importance of drawing... I agree, but say also that painting and writing... are crucial in the same ways. A blog I read told a story and quoted Volatire: quoted Voltaire: "J'ai décidé d'être heureux" ("I have decided to be happy," to which he added, "because it is good for my health") -- see http://afemmeduncertainage.blogspot.com. I love this quote, and decided to play with it!
