The April full moon can be called "pink" because that's when the pink phlox flowers blossom and spring begins. And in Point Reyes, we had seen Alpine-like meadows filed with wildflowers, landscapes that look like moors,cows at the dairies standing in deep grass, the curve of the earth and wild ocean waves at North Beach. This painting began with an outlined Japanese folding screen (still there in pencil marks).
