I am working small again, until my studio is walled in... and I am thinking about the ways in which the English countryside was "enclosed," and the common growing fields turned into grazing lands for the estates... and I was thinking about the ways a commons in a city is often not just a park, but the city walls, and the writing and painting on the walls....the artists looking out as if to a wide countryside... this is one wall that tries to see the original wide-stretched commons. It marks a transition from city to country...
