I was born in Connecticut, in a town that was famous for its shade-grown tobacco; the tobacco barns scattered through Connecticut and Massachusetts have been re-worked for horses or new agricultural uses. I have collected a few very beautiful cigar boxes and hope to turn them to new uses as art objects. This painting gathers colors from the studio tables and floors (I have been reading "Francis Bacon in Your Blood" and am remembering the chaotic studio now preserved in Dublin).
