"Four Trees Upon a Solitary Acre"
watercolor, inktense block, acrylic on paper

I have been reading Helen Vendler's book on Emily Dickinson's poetry. There is, I think, no better reader of ED. I love the "Four Trees" poem and like Vendler's sure touch, here, and the text on the page is hers, " a meditation on nature as a permanent withholder of meaning." And designs from nature that are never so regular, so neither am I.
