This is a transitional piece, something between what I have been painting for the last nearly three years and what comes next. Thinking back to when Nancy Meagher and I were given permission to sketch in Emily Dickinson’s bedroom in her museum in Amherst, Massachusetts. The windows are morning and evening… the light from the windows in that room was powerful.
