(For description of book, see "POMPEII: R and G"). We were walking through Dublin past an older monumental building. The decoration appeared to show a bull with earrings (later, I saw that they were a garland, but the earrings stayed with me). It seemed very close to some of the Pompeiian frescoes discussed in the book. The left side here shows the word "FIGURATIVE" in a very non-represntational setting, as a reminder that even the found art of Pompeii was not exactly realistic.
