We were driving Route 1 in Monterey County and saw a "No Trespassing" sign with the letters cut out and trees and sky visible through the cut-out spaces. The surrounding land included one tree and a lot of brown dirt with sand dunes behind it. This was, in its way, a wall, I decided, and painted over a previous work to create it.
