Paintings
Charley gave me an article from the Paris Review, which noted that Helen Frankenthaler and James Schyler were friends, and exchanged postcards, letters, poems and paintings one summer while Frankenthaler and Motherwell were in Italy. Included in the article was a draft poem called "Torcello," where the artist and the painter had met during the Venice Biennale. I started to read Schuyler's collected poems (I already love Frankenthaler's work, especially her woodblock prints).
